Bonner Hut Hike
The Bonner Hut can be found at 2,340 m above sea level. It is managed by
Alfred Stoll, who renovated the refuge, which now sleeps 25 people. From
the Bonner Hut there is a fantastic panoramic view that takes in the
Three Peaks, Dobbiaco, Wahlen and Plan de Corones, for example. If you
want to experience the sunrise in the mountains, then you can spend the
night at the Bonner Hut and then climb the Pfannhorn the next morning
and enjoy this wonderful natural spectacle. Make sure that you check
beforehand that there is room on tel. +39 340/9428624 or by email on
info@bonnerhuette.it.
We started out on a rather poor day from the Saiterhof. Initially the
going was very even on the asphalt road. The bulk of the route was on
gravel and extremely steep, so we found our sticks very useful. The path
can be hard for small children. We took enough to eat and drink with us,
as it was often very warm. On the way up we saw lots of flowers. After a
strenuous climb we enjoyed the wonderful panoramic view, which included
the Three Peaks, Plan de Corones and much more. There was as much food
and drink as we could want, and when we had eaten up, we readied
ourselves for the descent. We could have taken another route down, but
we didn’t, as it is quite a bit more difficult.
