Shopping in South Tyrol is very special, because it is only here where an incredibly elegant Italian fashion meets the uniqueness of South Tyrolean tradition. While taking a relaxed stroll through the romantic alleys with their numerous boutiques and shops as well as farmers markets, you will not only find a wide range of authentic Italian fashion labels, Mediterranean specialities and souvenirs, but also typical South Tyrolean products, like homemade cheese or bacon. Definitely also worth a visit are the many handcraft workshops, with lots of self produced sculptures or beautiful hand-woven textiles. The Stegener market which takes place every autumn in the Pusteria valley, is a very special event. It starts on the 26th and ends on the 28th of October and is known as the largest street market in Tyrol. Here you can find everything your heart desires: from hot wine and snack bars, Schnaps and cheese stand to inimitable handicraft products. Come and see for yourself, come to the Pusteria valley and always keep the following ancient proverb in mind: Those who want to happily survive the following winter, must visit the Stegener market in order to do so.
