Rosengarten - Latemar in the Dolomites

King Laurin’s empire with its picturesque villages like Nova Levante,
Nova Ponente, Monte San Pietro, Obereggen, Ega, Lago di Carezza, Tires,
San Cipriano and Collepietra is situated in the South West of the
Dolomites. Here, in this unique and mythological mountainous landscape
of the Rosengarten - Latemar,
your dream holiday awaits you. In summer as well as in winter, there is
always something to do and to see. The ski areas Lago di Carezza - Nova
Levante and the ski centre Latemar are the synonyms for an unlimited
winter experience; modern ski lifts, 90 kilometres of optimally groomed
slopes as well as an attractive network of cross-country ski runs of the
length of about 100 kilometres. It’s truly a paradise for passionate
cross-country skiers, alpine skiers and snowboarders; but also hiking
there in winter never gets boring. Extensive walks in a snowy landscape
invite you to kick back and recovery and relaxation are guaranteed. Not
only in winter, but also during the warmer time of the year, hiking
amidst the impressing and magnificent Dolomite mountain ranges turns
into a great experience. Numerous hikes, adventurous fixed rope tracks
and breathtaking climbing trails are taking you past blooming alpine
pastures, green forests and idyllic mountain lakes, in the middle of
genuine nature, which js characteristic for this unique world of the
Dolomites.
The idyllic character of this holiday region is being emphasised by the
numerous small chapels and churches, like the small church St. Helena in
Nova Ponente or the small S.Cipriano church in Tires. Also South Tyrol’s
most famous place of pilgrimage - called Pietralba - is definitely worth
a visit. It is one of the most visited places of its kind and is an
ideal starting point for great hikes. Furthermore, you should make sure
not to miss out on a trip to the earth pyramids in Collepietra. By now
these remains of the ice age have disappeared in many places, but they
can still be admired in Collepietra.
