The South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology

The often-seen queues at the entrance of the South Tyrol Museum of Archeology in Bolzano are evidence: that this is a place to admire a special find that attracts thousands of people: Ötzi, the man from the ice. Since 1998, the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology has had this crowd-puller on view, which is older than all the Egyptian mummies. In the Museum built specially for him, he can be viewed in a darkened room, behind bullet-proof glass. The original finds and the history of the man from the ice, are displayed over three floors.
