Wengen – La Val in Italy

Holiday in the 1st South Tyrolean hiking village

Wengen - La Val, the smallest resort in the holiday region of Alta Badia, located in the heart of the Fanes - Sennes - Prags Nature Park. La Val in Italy is characterised by its almost untouched nature. Away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it promises its visitors a relaxing holiday - a holiday destination tailor-made for nature lovers and hikers. And its little wonder that in 2015 Wengen in the Dolomites was awarded the "European Hiking Village" seal of quality. Since then it has been counted as one of Europe's hiking villages. You can follow the many exciting hiking and climbing routes up to the peaks of the Dolomites. Leisurely walks and hiking trails lead through a truly fascinating natural landscape.

There is also lots on offer for winter sports fans. The Alta Badia ski carousel and the Kronplatz ski resort, both guarantee pure skiing pleasure. Likewise, cross-country skiers, tobogganers, ski tourers and snow shoe hikers also have lots to look forward to, because when Frau Holle shakes out her mattress over the landscape, La Val - Wengen turns into a pure leisure paradise!

Discover culture

A worthwhile destination for culture lovers in La Val in Italy is the Church of St. Barbara, which was consecrated for the first time in the 15th century. Scientists suspect that this chapel was built by miners, as St. Barbara is the patron saint of miners. The construction of the old parish church dates back to the 14th century. When this church became too small, the new parish church of St. Genesius was built in the middle of the village.
