Culture & History

The village in the Puster Valley, also known as the Roman station "Sebatum", was already an important roadside station during the Roman Empire. Mortar built houses from this period, some with baths and underfloor heating, have been archaeologically detected. In Mansio Sebatum, which is dedicated to Roman times, culture lovers will definitely get their money's worth. Attractions include the crypt in the former Sonnenburg Monastery, the small pilgrimage place of Maria Saalen and a visit to the pilgrimage church built in 1653.
