The Oswald von Wolkenstein ride

The Oswald von Wolkenstein ride is one of the largest horse riding events in the Dolomites. This traditional horse show is held every year in Kastelruth, Seis and Völs am Schlern in the summer and is known far beyond South Tyrol. 36 teams of riders with waving flags move from tournament to tournament. Four rider troops compete in the disciplines of speed, skill, and horse handling. In the end, team spirit and courage are critical in this tournament. An award ceremony at Castle Prösels, with a glittering mediaeval festival, draws this chivalrous competition to a close.
