The Valle di Anterselva in South Tyrol

A Mecca for nature lovers and sports enthusiasts

Biathlon fans in particular will be familiar with the village of Anterselva in the Dolomites region of Plan de Corones, as it is considered a Mecca for biathletes and fans of this sport. In addition to the biathlon stadium, which is a trademark of the village, the fascinating natural landscape, above all of course the Lake Anterselva, delights young and old alike.

Whether summer or winter, spring or autumn - the Valle di Anterselva knows how to show its best side all year round. Varied and entertaining sports activities are on the daily programme here. Whether hiking or mountain biking in summer, scaling the surrounding peaks of the Dolomites and Vedrette di Ries or relaxing at the Lake Anterselva.

In the cold and snowy winter months, cross-country skiing and biathlon are a great attraction. However, snowshoe hikes, winter hikes or ski tours are also very popular. Families will love skiing on the Riepen ski lift in Anterselva di Mezzo or how about a trip to the Plan de Corones ski area, the No. 1 ski mountain in South Tyrol? That is also not far away.

Lake Anterselva

Of course, you should pay a visit to Lake Anterselva, which lies at an altitude of 1,642 m - the ideal place to relax and recharge your batteries. A beautiful nature trail has been created around the lake, which is the third largest of South Tyrol's natural lakes, making it a fun and varied experience for children too. The information boards explain the fauna and flora of this area, explain the rocks of this region and also provide information about the fish that live in Lake Anterselva. You will need around 2 hours to walk around the lake - depending on how long you spend at the individual stops, of course.
