It is immensely popular: the cross-border 105 km long Pustertal cycle path between Mühlbach and Lienz. Entire families cycle here, mostly with rental bikes, in both directions, and can be transported back to the starting point by the trains. The great thing is: if you are too tired to cycle, you can just stop and take the train back.

The Dobbiaco - Cortina cycle route

A bike tour from Dobbiaco in Alta Pusteria to Cortina d'Ampezzo, not only leads through the wild and romantic Höhlenstein valley, but also connects South Tyrol with Belluno. The special thing about this route is: it leads over the old railway line that used to connect the two Dolomite villages and leads past the world famous Three Peaks.

From 2,050 m above sea level, almost 1,000 vertical metres down into the valley, on two wheels. Perfect for mountain bikers looking for adventure. Numerous steep curves lead from the Plose near Brixen down into the valley. There are many jumps that can also be avoided via chicken lines. Variety and excitement guaranteed.

South Tyrol Dolomiti Superbike

Every year in early July, the holiday village of Villabassa in Alta Pustera turns into a true cycling Mecca, because once again it is: The South Tyrol Dolomiti Superbike. Every year, the most difficult mountain bike race in the Dolomites attracts a multitude of cyclists. There are two distances available for more than 3,500 cyclists annually, at the South Tyrol Dolomiti Superbike race. Either 119 km and an altitude of 3,822 metres, or 60 km and an altitude of 1,688 altitude metres - whatever athletes choose - a decent level of fitness is required for both routes.

This is a very special street marathon in the heart of the Dolomites, where 9,000 enthusiastic cyclists take part every year: the Maratona dles Dolomites - Enel, one of those events where you can say with great pride: I was there! Cyclists can choose the length of the route up to grandiose and car-free passes.
The Maratona route: 138 km, 8 passes, 4,230 altitude | Medium range: 106 km, 7 passes, 3,130 altitude | Sellaronda route: 55 km, 4 passes, 1,780 altitude.
